To Those in the Know

I'm starving to death, I'm exhausted, I spend all my time changing diapers or reading books or playing games, and I'm so happy. James and I have now managed to classify every single plastic dinosaur he owns by era and species, and Marie and I play the cutest little kicking game. And she likes to make faces at me!! Mostly scrunchy, adorable, bestfaceever faces! And for lunch James and I made sandwich angels which was a sandwich with a cookie cutter angel shape and then he ate the insides and Mara ate the outsides, and then they swapped and I would have eaten one too, but then Marie was awake and now I'm spending my time here instead of doing anything else because James is running around and around my chair, squealing. Mara's chasing him, because they're playing Dogs and Cats, and Mara is a dog and James is a cat. A cat what squeals.

Angels schmangels, this is happiness!!

Well I am!! You know how my stupid stomach works. As in...how it doesn't. I hope it gets a clue soon. It's really annoying being ravenous only hours after eating. Well, I ate breakfast anyway. I always do, or I can't function. Stupid six-month-old body I actually don't have any other complaints about except for it's lack of immune system!!!!

And by that long winded whinge, I do of course mean, thank you my wonderful wife, for you are brilliant and beautiful.

I just didn't know it would be because I would have a son. I'm so glad I do.

Just make sure you keep finding the time to eat! I do know how your body works, just as well as you know I won't let you get away with not feeding it when it wants it! I'm sure your body will catch up to your mind, soon.

And Thomas, you're welcome. You're gorgeous and fantastic yourself.

I'm endlessly glad you do, too. You're such an amazing dad. It'd be a tragedy for you not to be able to give that to someone.

I do know, Thomas. I know with you, I never have to worry about who will take care of me in my time of need. I know you'll be there. And I am so, so glad you're happy.

The fact that you have a son, a daughter and a niece all living with you, in addition to your other nieces and nephews, makes me happier than I've ever been.
